Heyy. It's a process!

Trying to make HGTV dreams on a Walmart budget!
"We love because He first loved us." 1 John 4:19

I guess you could say I've had a true appreciation for home decor for a while now.
As a kid, I loved watching episodes of Clean House on Style Network - where they would turn people's cluttered homes and make it like new.
As an adult now, I love watching home decor content, like Fixer Upper and No Demo Reno on HGTV or watching my favorite YouTuber, Raven Elyse, decorate and organize her STUNNING home!
Honestly, my love for hotels (nice hotels!) likely has a lot to do with how beautifully they're often decorated.
It's pretty cool to make a space reflect a piece of who you are or just a vibe that you want to get when you enter it. If you're going to see it everyday, might as well be cute!

Now that my husband and I have moved into our new place, I have been itching to put my "home decor vision board that's been in my head for years" to work! I haven't really had the freedom (and money) to truly bring a home decor vision to life since 2016 - so yeah, I'm excited! *cracks knuckles*
While most of our place is a joint effort between my husband and I, one space that I get to fully decorate is our guest bathroom. In the process of bringing the vision to life, I'm realizing a few things about home decor:

It is truly a process. My vision for the guest bathroom is for it to be serene and spa-like, yet glam and fun. I want it to feel "clean and refined" but also incorporate natural feeling elements, like faux plants and items with various texture.
While I have the vision in my head...I still have to hunt for all of the pieces to make that vision come together.
I scoured all over Amazon, At Home, Walmart, etc. trying to find just the right pieces that work with the room. It's a slower process than I'd like, but heyyy...I'm working on a limited budget and I want to make it right!

Your vision will slightly change...As I add pieces to the bathroom, new ideas come up. As I get excited about those new ideas, I realize that they don't quite work with others I had, I'm learning that that's ok. While HGTV shows a "finished" home at the end of the episode, the reality is that the look of the home will continue to change. It's ok if mine changes too - but not too much though. This home decor stuff adds up! $$$
So, yeah.
The pics that you see on this post are my progress with the bathroom thus far. Let me know if you have any questions about anything you see or any thoughts that you have. Can't wait to show you the "kinda finished" product :)

It is nearly 1am and I need to take my butt to bed but I'll leave you with this - remember that God is love. Truly unconditional love.
He loves you through your good, bad, and the worst.
He proved the extent of His love when gave His only begotten son, Jesus Christ, for us. That in Christ, we ALWAYS have access to HIS Love.
He's compassionate towards you. He understands you. He loves you.
...& there's not a thing that you or anyone else can do to talk Him out of it!
